What In The Sacred Name Of Arceus Is Going On?

To be honest I've been observing the whole edit warring that's gone on ever since last Thursday. This is just insane. What's going on anyway? As far as I can tell it has something to do with images and dates? -WarthogDemon 23:41, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I got carried away. He's just here to cause trouble/disrupt things. If he believes something is his way, he will just keep reverting it. SpigotMap 00:01, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm mostly talking out of bewilderment here. If what I asked sounded like a scolding with a fingerwagging, I didn't mean it as such and I would be lying if I said I haven't accidentally done 3RR myself. Though I did decide to reword your comment, as pointing out Crystalflame the way you did is probably close to a personal attack (even if you didn't mean it as such). You might want to handle things a bit more carefully in the future but I think you've handled yourself better this time around. Cheers and happy editing. :) -WarthogDemon 00:23, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ummmmmmmm

Its just the Central African Republics Independence day, cant I wish it a happy birthday? It is such a crime? --LutonAirport 09:49, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

jeez take a chill pill , I am just wishing a country a happy birthday. Hey and Im a white guy! Are you proud to be white? --LutonAirport 09:53, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here we go...

We have a lunatic on our hands. It's at times like these that you wish you had admin powers... =P TheIslander 16:09, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you happen to see an improvement in the quality of the article? Well, anyways, I'm off. Gonna go on a scheduled Wikibreak that will last for a day or two. Good luck to you, SpigotMap, and happy editing. LOZ: OOT 20:55, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Er . . .

I don't meant to sound like a bully or anything, but referring to this edit, it's not a good idea to shove beans up one's nose. Not really a warning, but just a tip. :) -WarthogDemon 22:19, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regards on Habbo article

Vandalism is defined as an attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia.

My edit was to inform people interested in Habbo Hotel that Habbo is not as safe as it seems, not a bad-faith effort to destroy Wikipedia. Please consider refraining from warning people of permanently banning them by looking at the details first.

Generally I find students unions to be notable. However, I don't think we need to know how much the campus pub charges for a drink, or who the last President of the organization was. Just remind them that they need to cite sources. Thanks for the help! GreenJoe 04:22, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you have 5 seconds, I need someone to give Kwantlen Student Association a look over for facts and POV. Also some back up on the talk page would be great. Thanks. GreenJoe 04:30, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At Talk:University of Alberta Students' Union, we're discussing why the Presidents don't merit inclusion. GreenJoe 04:39, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Turks and Russians are nice friend countries of each other. You, being a side in the Cyprus dispute, are not regarded nice in this friendship. Never forget: Your frindship to Greek Cypriots make you gain a market of only 600 000 whereas make you lose a market of 75 million Turkey!! You are expected to behave logically. Think that in 2007 in Antalya, Turkey there was opened a Russian School!! Never destroy the friendship!, you - Russians-, loses otherwise GreekHonorous 08:40, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your warnings. So, if you are an admin of Wikipedia you can really protect the indicated pages. Thank you GreekHonorous 08:45, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. I thought that is was a little strange that you tagged this article with a db-repost tag, considering that when it was deleted before, it was at the author's own request and not because of an AfD or a more forceful speedy deletion criterion. I've retagged it with the more appropriate db-band tag. --Finngall talk 09:08, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well now. That'll teach you not to be so patient and kind to people!;-) Your friend has been duly blocked for her charming outburst and vandalism. Cheers, Sarah 10:06, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An Apology

Hi. I am very sorry for the issue with the Wallis and Futuna Islands thing. Basically I have a fantasy football team, and in this competition you may choose which country you are from, and the winner from each country gets through to a final showdown in the final week. Therefore - pretending that I am from Wallis and Futuna Islands gives me the highest chance of winning. I was having a joke with my friend, who I was trying to convince I am from there, and making up a national anthem in the style of Borat, i just thought was funny. Apologies Again. Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia articles, such as those you made to List of Pokémon (201-220), even if your ultimate intention is to fix them. Such edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. don't do that anymore, lulz SpigotMap 22:57, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Smile!

And out of curiosity, why did you place a warning to yourself? -WarthogDemon 00:37, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
User:24.76.181.253 was actually giving misleading information, not trivia. They don't make the cards for Pokemon before the Pokemon appear in the games/anime. :) And even if they did, such a thing could be fixed. -WarthogDemon 01:58, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My Trivia Section

How come you erased my Trivia section in the Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea article. I mean, I saw what you said about it, but you could have edited it to, "this seems like a blatant reference..." instead of deleting the whole thing from existence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Armageddon1994 (talkcontribs) 04:59, August 25, 2007 (UTC)

Hi, saw your edit to List of recurring human characters from Futurama regarding Michelle not needing her own page. Thought I'd let you know I fully agree with that assessment and that I'd make you aware that the page has already been created at Michelle (Futurama). I'm going to try redirecting it but since I don't expect that to really work I thought I'd get somebody else to keep an eye on it... Stardust8212 17:34, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pokèmon List Reverts

Nah, I don't think you're really being harsh. Though it's good to keep in mind that perhaps some of them are wanting to bring the gameguidish content back from the articles, but others are probably just trying to help out the best way they can. Quite a few of them are probably little kids wanting to help conribute to Wikipedia, and how many of them will know what a zorki is? Er, well that's how I see it at any rate. :) That's why I usually don't give them any warnings on talk pages unless a) they're putting in misinformation that they may or may not know isn't true, or b) consistently doing it more than 5 times. I suppose the bottom line is, give them a little extra slack. As long as you're not warning them on their talk pages right off the bat, you're doing fine. :) -WarthogDemon 00:39, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I have thought of something: When undoing one of the edits, it might be a good idea to explain why but leave out the "undid X's edit identified as vandalism back to Y's edit" bit. -WarthogDemon 19:28, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah okay. :) That was just an fyi since I hadn't looked at all you reverts. (I, like you probably, watch ALL the Pokemon lists; my watchlist tends to grow in bursts at times.) You do seem to be doing a good job though. :) Cheers! -WarthogDemon 19:51, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hooray for you!

I'm enjoying sharing the recentchanges patrol with you right now. You're fast and accurate, and you remember to put warnings on userpages. I like you. -FisherQueen (Talk) 20:36, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User page for speedy deletion

Hi, I marked this page as it's a copy of an already speedily deleted nn band bio and this user has been vandalising the project (already reported to WP:AIV). As he's not here to help the project I don't see why he should be allowed to use his userpage for free advertising for his band. This isn't an appropiate use for a user page. Dogfighting Controversy Revert War

Please stop violating wiki policy by continuing the revert war over FACTUAL RELEVENT NON BIASED statements made by these players about dogfighting. There is no reason to keep them off their pages... they don't violate wiki NPOV policy or any other wiki policy. They are relevent info that belongs on these pages.

See Keith Hernanez's bio - we have put up his controversial comments about women and baseball. The bottom line is these statements are not at all biased and belong on his page.

Please stop violating wikipedia policy by revert deleting them. Feel free to change how they are presented but they belong on the page. See Wiki policy:

"Be respectful to others and their points of view. This means primarily: Do not simply revert changes in a dispute. When someone makes an edit you consider biased or inaccurate, improve the edit, rather than reverting it. Provide a good edit summary when making significant changes that other users might object to. The revision you would prefer will not be established by reverting, and repeated reverting is forbidden; discuss disputed changes on the talk page. If you encounter rude or inappropriate behavior, resist the temptation to respond unkindly, and do not make personal attacks."

I emphasize the policy on refraining from reversions.

Thanks for your help with this - if you haven't seen it already: Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/70.143.68.157. Take care. Juan Miguel Fangio| ►Chat  05:14, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem my friend. I picked it up on New User Contribs and immediately noticed his single use of the new account to add the information back in to the article. I had to deal recently with a new editor wanting to add useless information across 10 different articles I watch. He was blocked twice and still continued. Hopefully this does not turn out to be the same type of case. I have also warned the other editor on your talk page for making legal threats against you. Cheers! SpigotMap 05:18, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you don't mind the refractor - i just wanted you to be able to follow the convo. (we can always put this on mine). your warning to me

Look, I appreciate the notification about legal threats. But there is such a thing as freedom of speech and blocking that speech by accusing someone of being a sockpuppet has ramifications. jmfangio has been accusing various others of sock puppetry. The first time I logged on I didn't have a user name. The second time, when I reverted to my own edit, I did. Alas, I am one in the same. It is humorous to comtemplate that a person would go to such an extent and create a second account to make very factual remarks about Stephon Marbury. My main concern with the content is that "Mr. Good Guy" should be shown to have questionable judgement as he evidenced. He chased off Larry Brown for that matter. For someone as familiar with wiki as jmfangio seems to be (way more than I as I am very new to this), this seems a malicious, defensive move and he has recently done it to others. It's a cheap shot.

This quote on the SMarbury page for example is:

He has been named to The Sporting News list of "Good Guys in Sports" three times. He was one of the highest donors to the NBA Player Association's Katrina Relief effort, donating 1 million dollars to the effort.[citation needed] He currently has 7 barbers on hire in Coney Island giving free haircuts to neighborhood children.[citation needed

is no more factual than:

Marbury was quoted as supporting the actions of Atlanta Falcon's quarterback Michael Vick after his arrest for involvement in dogfighting, gambling and animal cruelty. Marbury retracted his support the next day.

Many of us find this fact as significant as say, where he was born. If you think the Vick scandal is dated, I would argue that. It has brought enormous awareness and will revolutionize the penalities for animal cruelty at least in the U.S.. The good stuff should be balanced by the bad stuff.

Yes, I can drop it but the sockpuppetry defense has got to stop.Bmccarren 00:51, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
