Girma Wolde-Giorgis (born 1927) is the president of Ethiopia. He was elected in 2001, as a relative unknown, and unanimously by the Ethiopian Parliament.

He served in the military and as a politician under Haile Selassie. When Selassie was overthrown he worked under the military regime, and after this was otherthrown became a businessman, in addition to remaining in Parliament.
