Decker Brothers was an american piano manufacturer located in New York, New York. Production began in 1865 by David and John Decker, following many piano patents awarded to the two brothers. The Decker Brothers pianos are known for their exceptional quality in knowledgeable piano circles, but have not gained the fame of their more well known counterparts - namely Steinway and Sons and Chickering and Sons. Widely acknowledged as being equivalent in quality to the Steinway and Chickering pianos of the era, due to their relative lack of fame the Decker Brothers pianos will earn a lower price when sold. However, the prices earned from a Decker Brothers piano will still be well over double the price of an average piano manufacturer of the era.
The company ended it's operations at the death of one of the brothers around the turn of the 19th Century.
