Guaraíta
Guaraíta is a small town and municipality in central Goiás state, Brazil. As of 2005 the population was 2,835 in a total area of 205.3 km². The elevation of the municipal seat is 669 meters.
Guaraíta became a municipality in 1993. It is included in the Ceres Microregion and is bordered on the north and east by the municipalities of Itapuranga and on the west and south by Goiás. Its geographical coordinates are 15°44′45″S 50°00′37″W / 15.74583°S 50.01028°W.

Demographics
The population has been decreasing since 1980. The urban population is slightly larger than the rural population: urban population in 2003: 1,665; rural population in 2003: 1,149.
Economic Data
The economy is based on agriculture (rice, beans, manioc, corn, and bananas), and cattle raising (19,900 head in 2005.

Education and Health The literacy rate was 82.9% in 2000 while the infant mortality rate was 33.15 in 1,000 live births. There were only 2 schools with 753 students (2005). There were no hospitals and only 4 doctors.
