The Student Competition Center a building at Georgia Tech, also known as the Mechanical Engineering Research Building or the "Tin Building," is home to GT Offroad, RoboJackets, GT Motorsports, and WRECK Racing. The building, operated by the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, provides teams with the necessary facilities to participate in their respective competitions.

History

The building, originally built as a temporary structure, opened in 1941.[1] During its long history it has served as a laboratory and as offices for the school of mechanical engineering. In the past the building was also home to the Solar Jackets and an aerial team.
