Hey Luna Can you please unblock me? I was editing one of my friend's talk pages. He'll vouch for me. Please? Thank you. It was a joke. If this happens again, you can block me. DubCrazy (talk)

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

The reason is because user:Scholastic Opponent will confirm that he is my friend by the end of today and I was making a joke edit to his page by awarding a barnstar. Feel free to ask him yourself to confirm it. Thank you. I would appreciate a reply.

Decline reason:

Pending confirmation by Scholastic Opponent, per Luna below. Please make another unblock request once that confirmation is provided. —  Sandstein  21:01, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

At first glance, this looks to me like a pretty obvious throwaway account used to attack another user. I could reconsider that interpretation and unblock with apologies if SO contacts me to let me know you two are friends and this was a simple joke that I misunderstood. – Luna Santin (talk) 20:27, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I can assure you this was a joke and I wouldn't have much of a reason to attack him, given that he has been on wikipedia for less than three days.DubCrazy (talk) 20:30, 21 July 2008 (UTC)DubCrazy[reply]

Yes, he is one of my friends. I was not online when he made the edit, so I didn't even know about this situation until just right now. I think he deserves a second chance. Scholastic Opponent (talk) 02:45, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Scholastic Opponent contacted me, and indeed does say the two of you are friends. Sorry to have spoiled your fun, and doubly so if this was your first experience interacting with other Wikipedians. Hopefully you can understand why we'd want to clamp down hard on such things, though it can be difficult at times to sort out jokes from attacks. Anyhow, you're unblocked, now, and should be good to go.

Stay out of trouble, eh? ;)

welcome

i'm always glad to see someone trying to improve dubstep-related articles!

i'm one of the regular maintainers of the actual Dubstep article (although the other two are on wikibreak :( ) and the reason i'm saying hello is because a few recent articles you've edited are on my watchlist.

if i can give you one hint as regards contributing, it would be to have a good read of three key policies: WP:N, WP:V, and WP:NOR. these three things explain a LOT of the annoying policy stuff.

i'm really not trying to get on your case, but essentially what i'm saying is that if you're going to add content regarding, for example, burial's influences (i completely agree with your additions, personally), then you have to be able to back it up with verifiable sources, in other words either reputable print journals, reputable online sources (martin clark's stuff on blackdownsoundboy and pitchfork is an invaluable resource), or academic journals or reputable film sources.

if you want to know what references are all about, have a look at WP:REF or the dubstep article, which has piles of em! for now i'll stick a tag on your additions, and i might try and reference them myself, but i would encourage you to do so and get the hang of it. i won't delete your additions, but i will add that under wiki policy anyone can challenge or even delete unsourced content and stay within the rules, even if the addition is blindingly obvious.

the article on hyperdub is being challenged at the moment, for example. look at the recent edit history.

anyway, happy editing :) --Kaini (talk) 23:29, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page London Elektricity has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bmyspace\.com' (link(s): http://www.myspace.com/londonelektricity) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks!
