You need to learn what "frequently" and "typo" means. ;) --Plingggggg 00:13, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Brilliant, Pling :) Calor (t) 00:15, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Crown Fountain controversy section

Please comment on the debate towards the bottom on this issue. Third party opinions are needed.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 02:12, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've been reading it as it goes. I'll comment now. Calor (talk) 02:22, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can you cap or strike your concerns so I can see what you still want addressed.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 02:42, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Calor (talk) 03:28, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Calor (talk) 03:42, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
O.K. So I have resolved your issues. Do I have your support yet?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 04:20, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Probably. I'm waiting for some of the other issues listed to play out, but I'll add my support soon. Good luck with the FAC. Calor (talk) 15:04, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
O.K. so we have two issues that need third-party opinions. Chime in on the description of Kamin and the WP:RS issue if you have a chance.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 23:21, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure what issues to address to get support. Feel free to comment.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 00:36, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not entirely sure either, to be honest. I suggest that you and the co-nominator go through all the sections and see what's left unresolved, and try to get those issues back on the table and neatly resolve them, because things currently aren't looking too good for Crown Fountain's FAC. Calor (talk) 01:08, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What is your opinion of the current form of the article.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 03:00, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't really been following the FAC a lot over the past few days. Skimming it over, though, I find that Ruhrfich and Johnbod share the same genral sentiments about the article as I do. Perhaps I'll look at it more thoroughly again soon. Calor (talk) 03:09, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Johnbod supported and Ruhrfisch just did a copyedit and removed his prose comments.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 08:45, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Huggle

Oh, I'm sorry if I'm spoiling your fun! If you'd like, I'll take a break from Huggle so you can get in on the action :) CL02:59, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see, in that case, thank you! But why don't you consider getting Huggle? I was one of those manual reverters but then discovered the amazingness of the Huggle program. It's so much faster and automatically reports vandals on AIV, for one. But I do see the merits and satisfaction in manually reverting stuff too :) CL03:05, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I didn't know you had rollback rights... but you can apply for it (though I'm not sure where). I got my rollback rights without application, but I know you can apply - CL03:09, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think the requirements are 500 edits and a good history of not vandalizing anything. I got rollback rights back when I didn't vandal-fight at all - CL03:14, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback/Huggle

Hi Calor,

I saw your comment about rollback and thought you might be interested in applying for it at requests for permissions. I don't think there are any requirements other than a history of fighting vandalism and of course, that you agree to use it responsibly. I'm not an admin, but I do have rollback and have found it quite useful, especially with Huggle. It seems like these tools might come in handy fighting vandalism. In any case, good luck and let me know if I can do anything for you! --Wikieditor06 (talk) 15:41, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Monologues never fail to get the best of the speaker. I've read about the rollback feature, and understand that it's used only to revert blatant vandalism, not misguided good faith edits. I do intend to apply at sometime in the next days or weeks, but want to do a bit more manual reverting and warning to get a better feel for various warning templates, etc. Thanks for bringing it up and the info, though! Calor (talk) 15:45, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem... and sorry I didn't see your past discussion with CL until after I posted... I guess this was a little redundant. Anyway, all the best. --Wikieditor06 (talk) 15:51, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, not like I was really doing anything when you posted. And seeing talk pages with content besides templates is a bit of a relief. Calor (talk) 15:54, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Norkom

Hi, saw your intervention on the Norkom article against the POV-pushing by User:Autonomicpilot. Thank you! Just wanted you to know that he has accused us of being the same person, i.e. sock puppets. Don't think anything will come of it, but just so you know. Steve CarlsonTalk 16:47, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, thanks, I never would've seen that. I'll take a look. Calor (talk) 19:56, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Johnson

Thank you for looking at the Samuel Johnson page and fixing some items. Ottava Rima (talk) 13:31, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, no problem. Calor (talk) 15:42, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well done

Your rollback request

Rollback granted. :) Thanks for your understanding of the tool. Good luck. Acalamari 15:31, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bush

Bah, I wanted to be the one to remove the picture. It would have been my very first anti-vandalism... thing. Ah well, no sense in complaining. I commend your speedy reaction.

--BaKa-NEKO (talk) 22:56, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, sorry for ruining your fun. I'm using Huggle, an anti-vandalism tool that makes finding vandalism and reverting amazingly simple and fast, so I have a bit of an unfair advantage. Just keep looking, you'll find something vandalicious (is that a word?) soon enough :) Calor (talk) 22:58, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmph, sounds... confusing. And apparently I’d need to be granted Rollback in order to use this. I’d better let it be, maybe get a few more months under my belt here before applying for anything like that. I suppose I’m off to fix more grammar, then! *strikes heroic pose*
Vandalicious? It’s like the word “vandal” and then the word “delicious!” Is that like an oxymoron?

--BaKa-NEKO (talk) 23:15, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I dunno, maybe it is. Depends on what you like, anyways. I'd like to point out I've only been actively contributing on Wikipedia every day for a bit over a month, and I only applied for rollback last night and got it early today. So you may not have to wait "a few months". Just make smart edits, watch RC, revert some, contribute here, there, everywhere, don't get in trouble, and you'll be a perfect candidate for rollbacker before you know it. Calor (talk) 23:22, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I use Twinkle. I likes the name. --Plingggggg \ talk 01:39, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm mildly amused. Is that because it sounds like Pling, to an extent? Calor (talk) 03:08, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
..it does? But no, it's just because that's one of the gadgets in preferences. Although you wouldn't need it, O Mighty Wikipedian Rollbacker. --Plingggggg \ talk 01:26, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, I actually use it. And "twinkle" and "pling" have that... ing-ish sound to them. Calor (talk) 01:40, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ehh, it does? Regardless, we're both pretty and shine a lot. --Plingggggg \ talk 15:32, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My Apocalypse

Your edits on My Apocalypse have been reveted by another IP. I would ask you to please feel free to add to the discussion on the talk page. --The Guy complain edits 22:43, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Will do, gonna check it out now. Calor (talk) 22:56, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Revert Edits to O2 plc

Why did you reverse this amendment to the article?

Because I highly doubt the company has "ripped off" 35.9 million people. The sentence in the version I reverted to reads "By 31 March 2007 the company had 35.9 million mobile customers in the UK, Germany, Ireland and Czech Republic...". 35.9 million customers sounds right for those countries. I doubt 35.9 million people in four countries have filed complaints for being ripped off. If my logic is flawed and I'm incorrect, then find a reliable source to back up your claim, and re-add your text to the article, citing that source. Calor (talk) 01:11, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please be Careful

Whosoever put profanity in Hurricane Gustav has just not any interest whatsoever in editing Wikipedia right-that could be vandalism. Putting profanity is one vandalism method, but how should I avoid vandalism that is of no intent or without really knowing?

Atkinson 04:55, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

It's really complicated to get sources who fit Wikipedia rules and create proper edits without people popping out unexpectedly telling you to "Please do not" these or those, something means vandalism but the editing people did not edit for intention for vandalism-new editors are especially prone.

Atkinson 05:04, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I definitely understand it's tough to get on your feet here, but if you're careful in what you do and are familiar with important policies, then you'll be fine. There are certain measures in place to try and make sure people are especially polite, cordial, and helpful to newcomers. Calor (talk) 05:09, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
