Picture
Does anyone have a picture you took while he was unmasked? If so, add it to the article. He wrestled for over 2 years after losing his mask (he lost it at SuperBrawl IX in February 1999 and wouldn't wear a mask again until in debut in WWE in July 2001). TJ Spyke 05:53, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Top rope splash
Lately, Rey has been using a Top rope splash after the 619. It is clearly not the frog splash, as he tucks his arms up next to him and free falls to hit the opponent. Can this be added into his finishers with the West coast pop, etc.? He uses it right after the 619. dR (talk) 02:50, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- It's a seated senton, and it's already listed there. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 03:17, 17 February 2008 (UTC)<a href="http://s85.photobucket.com/albums/k61/randyorton101fan/Senshi%20and%20LAX/Rey%20Mysterio/?action=view¤t=MYSTERIOBYSUZIE.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k61/randyorton101fan/Senshi%20and%20LAX/Rey%20Mysterio/MYSTERIOBYSUZIE.png" border="0" alt="mysterio"></a>
- I get what he's saying. Actually what he's talking about isn't the seated senton. It actually is a version of the frog splash.Skilldog2 (talk) 20:24, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Move?

Daughter
His daughter's name has no 'I' in it. Its spelt Aalyah. The evidence is he has her name tattooed on his arm. http://www.wwe.com/inside/superstarink/reymysterio/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.1.61.2 (talk) 17:02, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Good catch. You are correct and the change has been made. Here is the full text of the article where it verifies the spelling. http://www.wwe.com/inside/superstarink/articles/reymysterio.Angrymansr (talk) 15:42, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
References needed tag removal
I removed the additional references needed tag. This article seems pretty well sourced now. Tag was added when article only had 6 sources. Now has ~ 33.Angrymansr (talk) 15:57, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Article title change
I think the title of the article should be changed from Oscar Gutierrez to Rey Mysterio. Several other articles on professional wrestlers are titled as their ring name, not their real name, like Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, and Samoa Joe. Even the article on his uncle, Rey Misterio Sr., is titled as his ring name. More people know him as Rey Mysterio, not Oscar Gutierrez and i think it would be easier for people to find the article if it was titled Rey Mysterio.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Skilldog2 (talk • contribs)
- If it hasn't been done already, there's gotta be a good reason. Then again, maybe not. Is there a link to a discussion about the page name somewhere or something? --Kaizer13 (talk) 11:53, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

new pic?
this one is getting stale. thoughts? 67.240.165.199 (talk) 22:56, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- We don't change the picture just because it's getting "stale." –LAX 23:04, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Rey Mysterio's Weight and Height
He is currently 5ft 9in and about 275lbs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.65.177.96 (talk) 02:50, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- reliable source? The source stating his height/weight is from WWE. ♥Nici♥Vampire♥Heart♥ 02:56, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Exactly, those are his billed height and weight. If you can find a reliable source for his actual height and weight, feel free to be bold and edit it in. A list of reliable professional wrestling sources can be found here. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 16:13, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
I knew he wasn't 5ft 6in.
Movie Career
There's a movie called Wrestlemaniac which has Rey Mysterio in it. I didn't see this in the article and think it should be added to his TV/Movie Appearances Section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.45.107.75 (talk) 19:21, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
- Reliable sources? -- iMatthew T.C. 19:37, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
- Umm...well, actually my only source is that I saw it with my own eyes at a store. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.45.107.75 (talk) 19:40, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, that won't suffice. --Soetermans | is listening | what he'd do now? 12:47, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yea, I figured it wouldn't, but other than that I found it being sold on ebay and trailers of it on YouTube. Besides me seeing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.39.255.105 (talk) 21:08, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
this is Rey Mysterio Sr. (Rey's uncle), I have the movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.192.59.4 (talk) 17:25, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
West Coast Pop 2
Rey named his finisher Springboard Seated Senton "West Coast Pop 2". I think it should be added to the article's finishing moves section. Zeggy 557 (talk) 18:31, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- Really? I've never heard of that. But if you can provide a reliable source, we'd be glad to include it in the article. Cheers, –LAX 18:52, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
I've found some videos including Micheal Cole calling the move "West Coast Pop 2", but i suppose that now they're calling it just "West Coast Pop" or "Seated Senton". I'm not sure about it. Zeggy 557 (talk) 19:07, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
TNA?
Err, Rey Mysterio signed with TNA? Where's the source for that? --Kaizer13 (talk) 08:08, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- I think it is called vandalism. Darrenhusted (talk) 12:45, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Vandalism, to me, is when people replace Cena's page with something saying "Can't wrestle for shite and has been pushed due to lack of brain cells in WWE Creative" (and rightfully so). Edits like this leave me thinking something else. Not all edits that aren't source is vandalism, you know. --Kaizer13 (talk) 12:50, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Adding false information is vandalism. Just more subtle and harder to spot. Darrenhusted (talk) 13:16, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

The Arm thing!?
Where it say's that on WWE.com, it say's That he is sufering from a bicep injury, WELL ITS TALKING ABOUT THE ONE THAT PUT HIM OUT OF ACTION BACK BEFORE WRESTLMANIA! Its been like that since his match with Edge, & he has recovered from that now, WWE.com doesn't update the Bios that much, the last update to his bio was changing it from Smackdown to Raw, so it isn't true that that is the reason he's out of action. will someone change it!--Kingdom of crash and spyro (talk) 17:17, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- It has been 6 months, that is how long it takes to recover from that injury, as far as we know he is still injurd, bring a source that he isn't, a reliable one, and it can be removed.--WillC 18:10, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- What about his return, he returned after the draft to beat Santino, he wasn't injured then, doesn't that count for anything, besides their is a source... somewhere, I'll try to find it. --Kingdom of crash and spyro (talk) 11:34, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Jr?
I'm just wondering, why is "Jr." included in the article name? I know when he first debuted in the WWE, he was billed as Rey Mysterio, Jr. (at least initially but I think it was dropped fast) but considering that not only is he known as Rey Mysterio without the Jr. but that Sr. is Rey Misterio, not Mysterio, is the "Jr." really needed? I realize the only difference is spelling, but the spelling helps differentiate Mysterio from Misterio, so I'm not sure that Mysterio needs Jr. or that Misterio needs Sr. for that matter, but considering this is the Mysterio article I'm proposing we drop "Jr". The result of the proposal was This redirects to Rey Mysterio, Jr.. Should it be a disambiguation page with links to Rey, Jr. and Rey, Sr.?
RandySavageFTW (talk) 00:16, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- No need. There is a disambiguation link at the top of the page. Most people will be looking for Rey, Jr., and the current state is the result of a recent discussion. GaryColemanFan (talk) 02:04, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with Gary. D.M.N. (talk) 15:04, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

New Nickname
The Raw announcers have called him the "Latin Warrior" a couple of times. I don't know if it is his official nickname now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.110.70.77 (talk) 20:24, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Rey's Leg Injury
In the part of the article concerning the "I Quit" match with Chavo Geurrero it says Rey won the match by repeatedly hitting Chavo's injured leg. The correct information is the opposite. Rey Mysterio Jr. is the one with the legitimately injured leg and it was Chavo who won the match by taking advantage of Rey's injury. If you read the article "I Quit Match" and go to the match concering the two, the information is correct.
Please change. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ChrisFishA (talk • contribs) 17:51, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Different design of Mask
I have noticed the mask changed for Rey Mysterio. The previous masks covered the whole back of his head, but the last few masks have been more open in the back. I have been wondering why that is. Anyone know? Fantasyleaguer (talk) 14:00, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Shouldn't it be Mysterio, not Misterio?
Okay...um, in the article, his name is misspelled a couple of times. Instead of "Mysterio", it's "Misterio". Now I can't edit this article. It seems cluttered to me. Should a Professional Wiki Editor take care of it?
