Template:Future election in the United States The 2010 Maine gubernatorial election will take place on November 2, 2010. Democratic Governor John Baldacci is term limited and unable to seek re-election. Primary elections will take place in June of 2010.

Possible Candidates

  • Mike Michaud - Current Representative from Maine's 2nd congressional district
  • Tom Allen - Former US Representative from Maine's 1st congressional district, candidate for US Senate in 2008
  • Steve Rowe - Attorney General, Former 4-term State House member from Portland
  • Bill Diamond - Two term Senator in the Maine State Senate and former Maine Secretary of State.
  • John Richardson - Former Speaker of the Maine House, Current Commissioner of Economic and Community Development.
  • Bobby Monks - Businessman, democratic fundraiser from greater Portland
  • Peter Mills - State Senator from Cornville and 2006 candidate for Governor during the republican primary
  • Rick Bennett - Former President of the Maine Senate and current RNC National Committeeman as well as the CEO of the Corporate Library. Bennett was the 1994 candidate for Maine's 2nd congressional district, losing to John Baldacci
  • Josh Tardy - House Minority Leader in the 122nd Legislature
  • Matt Jacobson - Head of Maine & Company, a private business attraction organization
  • Paul Lepage - Mayor of Waterville
