Bengbu Medical College (Chinese: 蚌埠医学院) is an institution of higher learning in Bengbu, Anhui Province, of the People's Republic of China.

The college was founded in July 1958 with support from Shanghai Second Medical College and Anhui Medical College. In August 1968, the Anhui Revolutionary Commission renamed it "Bengbu Anti-Revisionism Medical College". In November 1970, the Revolutionary Commission decided to merge four medical colleges in Anhui into one "Anhui Medical College". Thus it became Anhui Medical College, Bengbu Campus. In June 1974, the State Council approved the college resumed the name "Bengbu Medical College".

College of the site is located in the Huaihe River in Bengbu City, Anhui Province Road, No. 801,

Old and New Campus

September 2005 the new campus built and put into use. At present, old and new campus covers an area of 1098 mu, with a total construction area of 33 million square meters. The new campus is located in the eastern outskirts of Bengbu City Ryuko beautiful Lake Avenue, the East China Sea No. 2600 has been put into use of the research center for Graphic Information Center, theoretical teaching building, experimental teaching building, student apartments, graduate student apartments, life service center, the party government office buildings and related facilities, and other projects such as integrated sports hall is under construction. College actively adapt to social needs, expanding the size of school, and strive to enhance the professional building.[1]

Foreign Student Program

Foreign student intake started in 2007 without any proper approval from the Ministry Of Education or from W.H.O. The Foreign student program is running as a private owned system, totally under Mr. Pervaiz Iqbal. At present the foreign student intake is Canceled by Ministry. [2] [3]


Faculty

College pay attention to the building of the ranks of teachers. Our school has 552 full-time faculty (37 professors, associate professors 138, 216 lecturers; Dr. 20, 162 master's degree). There are cross-century technology leader in the academic back-up candidate, the Provincial Office of Education and 13 top-notch talent, provincial colleges and universities train young and middle-aged academic leaders object 14 people, the backbone of the provincial middle-aged and young teachers in colleges and universities 38 people, the hospital leaders in 36 disciplines, the hospital is the backbone of middle-aged and young 20 teachers; 6 outstanding teachers nationwide, provincial exemplary teachers in 3 people, the provincial outstanding teachers 8; National Labor Day Medalist 1; 50 people were enjoying the State Council, the government special allowances.
College has always adhered to the teaching as the center, focused on teaching research and teaching reform, and attention to curriculum, and promote the improvement of the quality of teaching. Two provincial-level education reform existing model professional, two provincial-level basic course experiment teaching demonstration center, four provincial-level key construction courses, nine provincial-level quality courses and a number of hospital-level quality courses and excellent courses. College of great importance to clinical teaching base for the construction and management, the existing nine affiliated hospitals (including non-direct) and a number of clinical teaching practice base. Official Data All kinds of students reached 14,156 (including 7207 undergraduates, 3116 college students, 339 graduate students). 现有临床医学、医学检验学、护理学、医学影像学、药学、预防医学、生物科学、精神医学、营养学9个本科专业和6个相关专科专业；免疫学、病原生物学、药理学、病理学与病理生理学、临床检验诊断学、肿瘤学、内科学、外科学、儿科学等13个二级学科、34个学科专业招收硕士学位研究生。[5]

Unofficial Data (www.cmedicaladmission.com) At present BBMC has 8846 students, 7 majors for regular courses such as Clinical Medicine (including Mental Health Medicine), Laboratory Medicine, Nursing, Medical Imaging, Pharmacology, Preventive Medicine and Biology, and 5 majors for junior courses. The college now offers 34 postgraduate Specialties such as Human Anatomy , Histology, Embryology,Immunology, Pathogenic Biology, Pharmacology, Pathology and Physiological, Clinical Laboratory Diagnosis, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, etc. In year 2006 there are 242 postgraduate students.

Foreign Students In 2007 about 117 foreign student were admitted to the college. But due to lack of teaching staff, non-approval form the Chinese to attend labs and reported very bad behavior of Director of admissions(Mr.Pervaiz Iqbal)towards the students, many students have left the college. At present about 70 foreign students are studying in BBMC. Further accept ion of foreign students is only allowed in 25 recognized universities of China. [6] [7]

Research Disciplines

College of great importance to the construction and scientific research disciplines. Have "Infection and Immunity Key Laboratory of Anhui Province", "tissue transplantation Anhui Key Laboratory of" two provincial-level key laboratories, six provincial-level key disciplines, currently including the National Natural Science Foundation projects, above the provincial level 163 subjects in the study, participation in National Key Basic Research Development Program (973 Program) subject 2, with the World Health Organization (WHO), Tsinghua University, State Key Laboratory of cooperation, such as a number of topics; have access to provincial and ministerial level or above in science and technology hundreds of awards (including three first prize); a year at home and abroad, hundreds of academic papers published in 2006, nearly 600; openly published, "Journal of Bengbu Medical College," "anatomy and clinical", "practical general Medical "three academic journals. Exchange Of Activities

College of active domestic and international academic exchange activities, met with the United States, France and other countries academic institutions, the institutions to establish collaborative relationships, on many occasions invited the United States, Japan, Germany, Australia, Thailand, Canada and other foreign experts and many eminent scholars to give lectures in hospital, and training of teachers selected to go abroad to study. Truth About Foreign Student Program

Majority of students coming to china are unaware of the truth of college. The ministry of china has recognized about 30 college which are approved officially to teach foreign students in English.
Bengbu Medical College foreign student program was originally owned by Mr.Pervaiz Iqbal who is a dual nationally holder. The invitation was not given by the college, even during the arrival of foreign students the were unaware of them.
The college has mass staff ,labs and research centers but it lacks the qualified teacher to teach foreign student in English. Hence presently all the medical subjects are being taught by only 3-4 teachers only.
The college even lacks the proper formulation of policies to run foreign student program. The education department even allowed students to complete their two semesters in 6 months only after which 2nd year classes started. But due to notification form the ministry and leavening of about 50% of foreign student the college canceled the the second semester and their promotion.
The truth is that many colleges in China are owned by private owners who pay all the dues to college even before the arrival of students. Such colleges are many in number , but most of students apply to study in such colleges because the private owners allow admission even if their academic qualification is below 40%.
But its better to get admission in college which are recognized by the Ministry Of Education China.

On Going Confrontation Between the Chinese and Pervaiz Iqbal

BBMC foreign student program is running privately under the direct authority of Pervaiz Iqbal with out any opinions form the College itself. This caused a big spark, especially when behavior of Pervaiz and his way of running BBMC foreign student program was reported to Ministry of Education and to the Pakistani Embassy, by a large group of students personally.
Since then the college dean and the related authorities are trying to take the foreign student program under their own personal control so that the program should run according to the rules and regulation of Ministry Of Education China.[10]

This college is nither recognized by PMDC nor under discussion to be recognized in future.
