Electro Love [2] is the second studio album by R&B artist Cassie. It is tentatively expected to be released in June 2009[3] after Cassie took a small hiatus to develop her vocals and a more mature sound. [citation needed] Diddy announced via a Video Blog that the album's title would be "Electro Love" which is taken from a song of the same name confirmed to appear on the album.
Background
Cassie has said that her new album will demonstrate more "independence"; there will be a "difference in vocals, a little bit more personality. And it's definitely a sensual album." She said that she was able "to work with different people and learn what their habits were and what works well with me."[4]
At Chalice Studios she recorded two new songs "Electro Love" and "Pretty Face" during recording sessions for the album.[5] So far she has worked with Pharrell Williams, Akon and Diddy on the new album although it is expected that other collaborators/producers will be announced in due course.
A promo (buzz) single from the album, "Official Girl", has been released with a video and digital release with rapper, Lil Wayne on August 5, 2008 and was released to radio on September 16, 2008.[6]
Cassie recently announced through her Twitter page that she had been working on her lead single titled "Must Be Love" (featuring Diddy) which is due to be sent to radio in April 2009. It has since been confirmed that the single will be released April 14, 2009 for digital download. [7]
