Cleveland Pools in Hampton Row, Bath, Somerset, England is a semi-circular lido built, by John Pinch, around 1814.[1] It is believed to be the oldest surviving public outdoor swimming pools in England.[2]
The pool was originally open to the River Avon. The Georgian site includes 12 dressing rooms.[1]
The site was closed in the 1970s and was a for a short time used as a trout farm. In 2004 Bath and North East Somerset council put the site up for sale and it was pit onto the English Heritage Buildings at Risk Register.[3] There has subsequently been a campaign to renovate it and use it again fro public swimming.[4]
