Verd is a settlement to the south of Vrhnika in the Inner Carniola region of Slovenia. The Verd viaduct on the A1 motorway from Ljubljana to Koper runs above the settlement.[2]
The local church in Verd is dedicated to Saint Anthony the Hermit and belongs to the Vrhnika Parish.[3]
The Slovene 19th century painter Jožef Petkovšek and the Impressionist painter Matej Sternen were born in Verd.
