Irena Troupová (Irena Troupova-Wilke[1]) is a Czech soprano and early music specialist.

Biography

Born in the České Budějovice, she made her first stage appearances at the Jihočeské divadlo in performances of The Magic Flute and Bastien et Bastienne.[2] During her studies of musicology at the Charles University in Prague she started to focus intensively on early music. She also studied singing at the school with Theresa Blum. Her cooperation with the Musica Antiqua Prague brought a large number of successful recordings.

In recent years, active mainly in Germany, but also performs many other countries (England, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Poland and others.) She performs and records with a number of ensembles (including Johann-Rosenmüller-Ensemble, Schütz - Academy, Capella Sagittariana, Dresdener Barockorchester, Lautten-Compagney, Kijivskaja Camera) and conductors (eg, Howard Arman, Frieder Bernius, Thomas Hengelbrock, Florian Heyerick, Vojtech Spurný, Robert Hugo, etc.), regularly performs in concert series in the Berlin State Opera, Berlin Symphony Orchestra and others.[2] The most interesting opera productions in which she participated include Monteverdi's L'Orfeo under the leadership of J. Rifkin in Basel, Freiburg and Mulhouse (characters "Musica" and "Proserpina"), the modern premiere (followed by CD production) Opera ' Arminius' H. I. F. Biber in Salzburg, Le Malade Imaginaire by Moliere from Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Jean-Baptiste Lully in Berlin and more.

Irena Troupová is a frequent guest at international music festivals such as Tage der Alten Musik Herne, Prague Spring International Music Festival, Festival de musique baroque Caen, Bach-Festival Sumy (Ukraine), the Holland Festival and others. In the Czech Republic performs regularly especially with harpsichordist and organist Jaroslav Tůma, other partners were also Gabriela Demeterová, Bohuslav Matoušek, etc. Irena Troupová is a popular teacher of courses Early Music (France, Czech Republic).

Recently, working mostly with Irena Troupová file "Orpheon", with which she shows in Spain, Austria and France. After a successful concert, "Musik im Dialog - Claudio Monteverdi und Luciano Berio" in a concert cycle of the State Opera in Berlin followed in the next season program ( "Bach - reloaded) from the works of JS Bach. The new projects include programs in collaboration with the comic opera (Berlin), German NDR radio and Belgian conductor Florian Heyerickem "Salto vocale" - section G.Ph.Telemann operas. Together with pianist Tomas Spurny states I. Troupová and forgotten music of important German composers of the 19th century, who worked in the Czech lands (Joseph Wolfram, Wenzel H. Veit) - concerts in Germany (Regensburg, Munich) and Bohemia (eg, Haydn Festival, Beethoven Festival).
