The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights Finale, also referred to as The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale, is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on December 5, 2009.[2] Featured will be the final from The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights in the Heavyweight division.
Background
A previously announced bout between Rousimar Palhares and Lucio Linhares has been moved to UFC 107.[3] Linhares was a replacement for Alessio Sakara who had to pull out due to rumored visa issues.[4]
On October 20, it was confirmed via Dana White's UFC 104 video blog that Kimbo Slice will be fighting at The Ultimate Fighter 10 finale.[5]
Frank Edgar was expected to face Kurt Pellegrino on the card,[6] but Pellegrino has been forced to withdraw due to an injury.[7] Matt Veach, who was previously scheduled to fight Mark Bocek on the event's undercard has been named as Edgar' new opponent.[8]
Houston Alexander announced prematurely that he will be facing Kimbo Slice (Kevin Ferguson) at the finale event, making it now known that Kimbo will not be in the finals of the TUF 10 competition.[9]
