Date of Birth

He was born in Texas and has turned 20.

Thank you whoever wrote this information. He was born on March 5, 1989. All evidence points to this date. --Geekboy6 (talk) 06:55, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WP:RS? Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 00:11, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just Jared Jr.

Here's the article:

"Thu, 05 March 2009 at 4:36 pm Happy Birthday, Sterling Knight!

Happy Birthday, Sterling Knight! The Sonny With A Chance hootie celebrates his 20th birthday today! JustJaredJr.com just leaned today that while on break from filming Sonny, Sterling and his costars Doug Brochu, Brandon Smith and Tiffany Thornton go bowling on their lunch breaks. Mostly Tuesdays! If you see them at the bowling alley, tell them hi from JJJ! If he has a girl frien tell her to back off! because he is mine!!!. The Sonny cast also have “Pajama Tuesdays.” They walk into work wearing their PJs! How fun!!!"

Believe me now that he's 20? --Geekboy6 (talk) 03:19, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, not a reliable source. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 00:10, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He was born March 5, 1989.

Look at this video. [1], At 0:01, a person talking to Sterling "you gonna cry on your 20th birthday", and at 0:05, Sterling responds "I'm gonna be crying on my 20th birthday". At 0:12 the girl behind the camera asks "when's your birthday". And at 0:16 Sterling responds "March 5". This clearly means his birthday is March 5, 1989 and even if youtube isn't a reliable source, Knight admits it. It also should be noted they said "Oh, so it's coming up", and the video was uploaded to youtube March 01, 2009, meaning that he was still 19 at the time and would turn 20 four days later, because if this video was uploaded after March 5, they wouldn't have said Oh, so it's coming up, because if they did that would mean Knight will turn 20 a year later. They even wish him "happy early birthday" and he says "thank you". JohnDorianyeah (talk) 13:14, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube is not verifiable. BOVINEBOY2008 13:22, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sources/notability

I have restored the tags for notability and additional reliable/independent sources.

No subject is notable without significant coverage in independent reliable sources. IMDb is not a reliable source for biographical information or future productions. Disney is not an independent source, as they certainly will report on all of their "stars". - SummerPhD (talk) 03:25, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

too short

Shouldn't he have a longer page?I believe this page is too brief. He's getting somewhat popular now.How is it confirmed that he is a singer-songwriter?what songs has he written and sang?--207.69.137.20 (talk) 16:19, 3 February 2010 (UTC)sweetheart2009[reply]

Named After...

It says that Sterling Knight is named after his mom's love for precious jewerly, but I know for a FACT who Sterling is named after. Sterling Knight is named after Sterling Hollaway. Sterling Knight's mother was (may still be, not sure) a big fan of Sterling Hollaway. Sterling K. admited that fact on the Bonnie Hunt Show. 69.249.20.72 (talk) 21:45, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I removed that sentence. Jwesley78 21:54, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Middle name and Siblings

In this interview, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIVRZrGzU-w&feature=related, Sterling himself says that his middle name is Sandman and he has two siblings, a sister and a brother. Samantha Scarlett and Spencer Shuga. We should really add that to the page and make a personal life section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.95.60.96 (talk) 04:45, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to add it to the article, citing the video and quoting it, but without the link (copyright issues). The KTLA Morning News is a reliable source. The citation will be: Rubin, Sam (entertainment reporter, interviewer); Sterling Knight; Michaela Pereira (early 2010). KTLA Morning News. Los Angeles: KTLA. Event occurs at 1:30. [Pereira:] What is your sister's name? [Knight:] Samantha Scarlett. [Pereira:] And your brother? [Knight:] Spencer Shuga… My mom is a Georgia Girl [Rubin:] Do you have a rap middle name too? [Knight:] I, umm, it's pretty bad. Sandman. I'm not kidding… I will show you my ID… {{cite AV media}}: |access-date= requires |url= (help); Check date values in: |date= (help)

I've also put it in an early life section. Even though it repeats his full name and date of birth, it moves the citations out of the introduction, which is preferred per the MOS. —C.Fred (talk) 16:03, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

sterlingknight.net fansite

http://www.sterlingknight.net/ "is in no way affiliated with Sterling Knight. We do not work with him and we are not part of the Disney Family. This is an official fansite run by fans. All pictures, media, etc. are copyrighted to their original owners."

Since this is a fansite, and since it contains copyrighted media, this seems to violate WP:EL, particularly in regards to linking to sites with infringing material. Is there a compelling reason to link to this fansite? —C.Fred (talk) 01:07, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No. How is a site that is "in no way affiliated with" him "official"? It's not. It's a fansite, nothing more. See WP:ELNO. - SummerPhD (talk) 01:43, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
