Injury

Is there any new info on his surgery and the like?--72.16.114.224 01:00, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

This looks a lot like vandalism, especially because piss links to headbanging...

  • Newsted is also noted for his energetic stage presence. Once described by Lars as a "human ball of shit", Newsted would frequently run on stage, and piss. He has stated in interviews that during some shows he would "fuck up his neck pretty bad" and "couldn't play for a few minutes." He has since attempted to remedy this problem by using lighter basses and Newsted occasionally headbangs to this day, years after leaving Metallica.what a fucker!

Some dumbass posted some stupid crap about Jason in the Bio so I removed it. Need someone to fix up the slight hole I made. 65.35.223.108 03:01, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipeida is telling me Jason was in Floatsam and Jetsom when he was 13 and joined Metallica when he was 16. This guy was not born in 1970, try 1963, making corrections. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.119.131.172 (talk) 02:50, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Jason says his birthday is in 1970 during show footage in 1992 (Yr 1/2 in the life Pt 2). Obviously not quote-worthy.

==Cleanup==personally, METALLICA took a dive after they incorporated Jason, "Flotsam and Jetsam" had a hit, the year he left.(Hint fucking Hint) Granted they reached "god" status...sorry "GOD" status with the following albums, but for damn sake....its fucking metallica...

The recording industry has everyone duped into whats hot, "St. anger" was the shit whoever the NAY SAYERS maybe, old timer metallifans have the same voice as I, or they were jocks when I just opened "master"...BRING IT ON, FUCKERS!!!!

Cleanup

The style section of this article needs MAJOR cleanup. Soon. 205.238.205.220 21:32, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Songwriting

Can anyone provide some details about the songs Newsted wrote while in Metallica?

For example, I remember reading an interview with Newsted with him saying that "Where the Wild Things are" from ReLoad was originally called "Martini".

Also, it seems rather obvious that he wrote the bass line for the song "My Friend of Misery" on Metallica but, of course I've never read or seen anything to confirm this. Darwin's Bulldog

Newsted has two writing credits for his tenure in Metallica: "My Friend of Misery" from Metallica, and "Blackened" from ...and Justice For All. (source: http://www.metallicaworld.co.uk/Interviews/1996_pretty_hate_machine.htm)

Newsted also co-wrote "Where the Wild Things Are" on ReLoad. Darwin's Bulldog 22:33, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

The picture in this article is really terrible. I think it would be better to have no picture at all than that one. Asarelah 06:20, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can't even see his face!

- I totally agree... a new picture is definitely required. Kyrsch 22:45, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry guys, I added a new and better image with Jason during the late 80's and early 90's.--Cory pratt 14:45, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good pic, but it'll end up getting deleted unless someone comes up with a proper copyright tag that lists the source of the pic. Willbyr (talk | contribs) 04:28, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He Left

I have no idea about his another bands before Metallica but main reaosn of joinig Metallica was when Cliff Burton died in that accident, and in that time, Jason was a huge Metallica fan and got his chance of his life time, thats how the the story goes. PS: that was told in the MTV Icon in may 2003.

I Miss Newsted's Presence In Metallic

Does anyone else? I'm sure you do. This guy could whip fans into an absolute frenzy. Look at the intensity and presence he brings to a Metallica performance. Truly amazing. "Die, Mother fucker, Die" - Creeping Death :D

How about this pic?

Will this pic be a good alternative? http://www.ahymsa.co.uk/images/ed/newstead.jpg -TBB529

That would be an excellent pic, as long as you provide a source and a fair use rationale. Willbyr (talk | contribs) 04:37, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jason Newsted

What brand of bass did he use? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 142.167.213.13 (talk) 01:19, 21 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

He mainly uses Sadowsky bass guitars, but also tried out lots of other brands. - Hacklor 20:37, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Birth location discrepancy?

In the info box in the top right of the article, it claims that he was born in Kalamazoo, MI, but in the article itself, it says he was born in Battle Creek, MI? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.39.194.5 (talk) 14:29, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He's actually from Richland, Michigan, which is halfway between Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. Close enough? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.108.140.10 (talk) 08:20, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

personal status

Is he married? Where does he live? 77.127.192.89 (talk) 11:52, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In Some Kind Of Monster he says he choose not to have children. I've never been able to find anything saying if hes married or in a relationship with anyone, perhaps we need some extensive research done. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.154.2.61 (talk) 09:22, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes Jason owned a Rickenbacker, and 12 String bass on Roam

http://www.jasonizer.com/gallery/solo/s1/images/solo018_jpg.jpg - Theres a picture of him with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5x4UshgDfA - Theres the bass track from the studio version of the song, Jason uses a 12 string on the intro, also uses the infamous Morley Wah in the middle of the song. If you are reviewing this, check the sources ffs.

wow what passes for references these days is pathetic on wikipedia. Write some BS, post it on geocities, and then use it as a reference even if it doesn't actually support what is being referenced.

Sad. I've removed some offending text, I'm sure it will come back when the doosh or some idiot thinks it should.

Picture

The current picture is useless, you can hardly make out Jason unless you look extremely closely. Can anyone find a better free-use image so people can see what he looks like? Cheers Emcee george (talk) 10:42, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
