UFC 117 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. While not officially announced by the organization, it is expected to take place on August 7, 2010 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.[1] The event will be first that the UFC has hosted in Oakland.
Background
UFC President Dana White announced via ESPN on Jim Rome is Burning that Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva may face Chael Sonnen on August 7 after having choice words for the Champion.[2][3] Dana White also said on Jim Rome is Burning that if Silva acts like he did at UFC 112 he would be cut from the UFC.[4]
