Philip Burdon

Philip Burdon is a former New Zealand politician. He was an MP from 1981 to 1996, representing the National Party. He was first elected to Parliament in the 1981 elections as MP for the Christchurch seat of Fendalton, and was re-elected in that seat until leaving Parliament at the 1996 elections.

Philip was the New Zealand Minister of Trade and State Owned Enterprises in 1996. At which time, he orchestrated the sale of the Ministry of Public Works to Malaysian firm Kinta Kellas. At the time of writing (2006), Philip Burdon is serving as a director on the privitised Ministry of Works, now called Opus International Consultants.
