The section speculating about his contract amount will always be speculation in the AFL, because it is rare for the actual value of the player's contract to be published or known by the general public. So it should probably be removed. BartBart 12:28, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some bad info

Who can edit this page..

These lines -

... AFL drug test on March 19. He also has false teeth.

... Cousins had also recently split with his long-term girlfriend, Samantha Druce.[7] This prompted Basement Jaxx to release their hit single, "Where's Sam Druce At?"

Are both a bit silly. Basement Jaxx never released a single by that name, and whether Dalton Gooding has false teeth or not is irrelevant (and it is not clear that is is Gooding being referred to, as opposed to Ben Cousins).

I'm pretty sure Cousins was born in WA, why does it say Melbourne?? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by [[Special:Contributions/ 150.101.151.231|150.101.151.231]] (talk) 14:39, August 21, 2007 (UTC)

He was born in Geelong.

I'm pretty sure Gooding does in fact have false teeth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sidgjwoigewrognngrjgje (talkcontribs) 03:30, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Born in 1954 ??? Gee he looks good for his age. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.161.211.72 (talk) 21:10, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

16 Oct incident

Of the various sources only one has mentioned the name of a second AFL player, given that all other sources haven't identified this person under WP:BLP extraordinary claims require extraordinary sources until a number of independent sources mention this person then his name should be excluded from this and any other article. New Controversy

Ben Cousins was charged "with one count fail to comply with requirement to undergo a driver assessment and one count possess prohibited drug" not failing to take a drug assesment. This is incorrect an needs to be changed. For the correct information, see http://www.police.wa.gov.au/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=f0UyGpgrT10%3d&tabid=996&mid=1752 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.157.77.100 (talk) 03:02, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

it was a driver assessment he failed to undertake. If he had undertaken the assessment and police thought he was impaired, he would then have to undergo a drug assessment (blood or urine test). Please get the facts correct. Here is the correct information http://www.police.wa.gov.au/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=f0UyGpgrT10%3d&tabid=996&mid=1752

Ben Cousins was stopped by Police and taken in for questioning today - http://abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/10/16/2061193.htm?section=justin —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.101.129.246 (talk) 07:38, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Where's the source for him being charged with possession and refusing a blood test? It's quoted here but I haven't seen it anywhere in the media, much less sourced on this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.189.213.149 (talk) 10:04, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's all over the media now, check the ABC coverage - http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/10/16/2061401.htm —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.101.129.246 (talk) 11:50, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Drug test

West coast officials denied that they had taken a drug test at the press conference for Cousins sacking. I haven't got a source atm but I'll be changing that part. And in case you've been on the moon he's been sacked.Ticklemygrits 13:15, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Such is Life" tattoo

This info should be in there somewhere. i know it is trivia, but surely it could find a place in the article, as it sums up the guy's attitude. --Spewmaster 22:58, 18 October 2007 (UTC)----[reply]

I don't think so. Not unless there is a source saying that the the "such is life" tattoo is indicative of a "stuff you" attitude. If something about his attitude is relevant (sources permitting) it would be the fact that he keeps on laughing each time he gets taken to court, and when he made those resignation speeches and so forth, he couldn't keep a straight face. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 01:27, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Blnguyen can you please point me to the wikipedia policy against it ? I mean have a look at the Angelina Jolie article .... there is a whole section dedicated to her tattoos. --Spewmaster 01:28, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bringing the game into disrepute

Can whoever in their infinite wisdom decided to block the main article, put in something about Ben's meeting with the AFL today (Nov 19) and how he was found guilty and all the repercussions and crap. LPWRHR (talk) 11:22, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Retirement

Ben Cousins has announced his retirement from AFL and the article should be changed to represent that. 124.180.78.197 (talk) 00:34, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
