I first heard about Wikipedia in 2005. From 2005-2007 I had a hard time getting on wikipedia because of internet censorship in China. I like writing about stuff that I’m familiar with and that I don’t think other people would write about.
I’ve made a ton of minor edits but here’s what I put some effort into:
Yutaka Akino - Noted Japanese scholar of Central Asian history. Murdered in 1998 in Tajikistan working for United Nations Mission of Observers in Tajikistan. See [8] for a great deal of information about Akino. Look up in worldcat for publications.
Robert Gauthiot, French Orientalist, linguist, and explorer, interrupted his exploration of the Pamir Mountains in July 1914 to return home to serve as a captain in the infantry. He received the croix de guerre before he was mortally wounded at the Second Battle of Artois in May 1916.
