Jørgen Lunge(11 October1577 – 19 August 1619) was a Danish noble who served as Rigsmarsk from 1616 to 1619.

Biography

Jørgen Lunge was born at Odden in 11 October 1577 to Ove Lunge and Anne Maltesdatter Sehested. After receiving his schooling at home, in Viborg and at Sorø Academu he went abroad for six years to continue his studies, spending most of his time time in Strasburg, Genf and Padova.[1]

Shortly after his return to Denmark he took off once again to go into Dutch military service. Prio to his departure from Denmark he recruited a company of soldiers which he led with honours in the war against the Spainish, leading to his promotion through the ranks.Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page).
