Tengriism was the ancient, on shamanism based belief of all turkic speaking peoples and mongols before they joined into known world religions.

The Meaning of life in Tengriism is composed of living in Harmony with the world around. The people see their existence saved between the eternal blue Sky Tengri, the fertile Mother-Earth Eje and a ruler who is regarded as the Son of the Sky. By living an upright and respectful life, a human being (hun) will keep his world in balance and maximize his personal power windhorse. Heaven and Earth and the spirits of nature and the ancestors supply every need and protect all humans. Shamans play an important role in restoring balance when it is thrown off by disaster or spirit interference.

Shamanism, Animism, Totemism, ancestor worship and common elements with the chinese Universism are also parts of Tengriism.

Tengriism was also the religion of the Huns, Eurasian Avars, early Hungarians and early Bulgarians.
