William Radice is the author of the book Teach yourself Bengali.

He is a Senior Lecturer in the School for Oriental and African studies, which is a college of the University of London.

He is also a translator of the poems of Rabindranath Tagore , arguably one of the world's finest poets ever.He is also engaged in translating the Meghnadbadh Kabya by Michael Madhusudan Dutt .
