Rodney "The Silent Assassin" Glunder (born as Rodney Faverus, March 1, 1975) is a Dutch-Surinamese mixed martial artist and kickboxer. He has fought for M-1 Global, Cage Rage, K-1, PRIDE Fighting Championship, RINGS, It's Showtime and Art of War Fighting Championship, and holds notable wins over top contenders Cheick Kongo, Melvin Manhoef and Cyrille Diabate.

Biography and care

Glunder began practicing martial arts at the age of 18, with Kyokushin Karate and Taekwondo. In 1997, he won the European full contact karate championships.[1] He began competing in mixed martial arts in 1996, and is a journeyman of the sport with almost fifty fights.

In April 2003, he made his K-1 kickboxing debut against fellow MMA fighter Joe Riggs at the K-1 Holland Grand Prix 2003 and won via knockout within the first round. He won his first K-1 GP in June 2006, when he defeated three opponents in one night to be crowned the K-1 Canarias 2006 champion.

On September 26, 2009, he fought Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert and Gold Medalist Antonio Braga Neto in his Art of War FC debut, but was cut short when Glunder was taken down through the ring ropes and injured his back in the first round. The match was ruled a No-Contest.

In November 2010 Glunder was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and assault at a nightclub in Berlin, Germany after assaulting a group of patrons while under the influence of Ecstasy.
