Komsomolsky District (Russian: Комcомо́льский райо́н; Chuvash: Комсомольски районĕ) is an administrative and municipal district (raion) of the Chuvash Republic, Russia. It is located in the southeastern portion of the republic and borders with Kanashsky District in the north, Yalchiksky District and the Republic of Tatarstan in the east, Batyrevsky District in the south, and Ibresinsky District in the west. The area of the district is 630.3 square kilometers (243.4 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a village) of Komsomolskoye. District's population: 27,273 (2002 Census);[1] 28,627 (1989 Soviet census).[2] Population of Komsomolskoye accounts for 17.7% of the district's population.[1]

The district was formed on February 22, 1939.[citation needed]

The Head of the District Administration is Gennady Fyodorovich Volkov.
