Minnesota State University - Moorhead (MSUM) is a four year university and part of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) located in Moorhead, Minnesota. Its athletic teams are called The Dragons. The campus newspaper is The Advocate, formerly The Moorhead State Mistic (closed by the administration in 1970). The school also publishes a yearly literary magazine, Red Weather. The school was called Moorhead State University and "Moorhead State College" prior to 1999. The university offers over sixty bachelor's degree options and has roughly a dozen graduate programs available, including an MFA program in creative writing.
