"A Scandal in Belgravia"

" A Scandal in Belgravia" is the first episode of the second series of the television series Sherlock. The first half is loosely based off of "A Scandal in Bohemia", a short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The second half covers a novel storyline. It was first broadcast on BBC One and BBC HD on 1 January 2012.

Plot

The episode begins immediately where it had left off in "The Great Game". Jim Moriarty (Andrew Scott), whose snipers are aimed at Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) and who has stated his intention to kill them both, is interrupted by a phone call. He angrily leaves, letting Sherlock and Watson go back to their flat at 221B Baker Street.

Sherlock solves a number of cases over the next few weeks, turning down a number more because they bore him. Watson blogs about these cases, and Sherlock becomes a minor celebrity online and in the papers. One day, Sherlock's brother Mycroft (Mark Gatiss) has the two come to Buckingham Palace for a meeting
