Juan Vicente Torrealba
Juan Vicente Torrealba: (born December 20, 1917) in Caracas, Venezuela.
When speaking of Venezuelan music and its great exponents it is imperative to mention Juan Vicente Torrealba, creator of famous pieces of the national folklore, like the "Concert in the plain". This is a man of magical hands to write surprising scores and to execute diverse musical instruments mainly the Harp, the one that has been constituted in its great passion. When he was eight days old of been born his parents took root in the Cattle ranch Long Bank, in Camaguán, Guárico State, in the heat of heart of the level Venezuelans, where Juan Vicente Torrealba grew.
He is in the level one, where he learned to touch the guitar. the four and later the Harp, instrument that has accompanied it since he was 16 years old. In 1947 he created his own musical set called "The Torrealberos", also integrated by his brother Arturo Torrealba and his son Santana Torrealba Leon, This group surprised the musical Creole atmosphere. This grouping has spread by the world the original music of the Venezuelan plain. Between the musical legacy that Juan Vicente Torrealba has produced for the folklore we have: "llanera Dawn" with his music and letter of Germa'n Fleitas Beroes, and the "tonada" "The paraulata". In 1948 Juan Vicente Torrealba leaves the cattle ranch and he undertakes his musical race in the capital.
Later he composes the well-known subject "Concert in the plain", streamlined passage that granted the Degree to him in Harp, in Mexico and Paraguay. Throughout his artistic trajectory, Juan Vicente has made musical presentations in all the country and international tours that took him to visit Europe, the United States, Mexico, central and South America. In 1985 he initiates his stage as a solist, period in his life in which he makes important musical presentations with symphony orchestras.
