Chameleon (label)

Chameleon was a record label formed by industry veterans Andy Frances and Steve Powers, and was funded by Dan Protzker. Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz was an employee and Chameleon had distributed some early Epitaph releases, such as L7's self-titled debut.

In the first years of the label's existence, Chameleon was distributed by Capitol/EMI Inc. In the last years of the label's existence, Chameleon was distributed by Elektra Records. Chameleon also relaunched the legendary Chicago Blues Soul label Vee-Jay Records, and had a subsidiary of their own called Dali Records.
