Pokey Minch

In the Super Nintendo video game EarthBound, Pokey Minch (Japanese: ポーキー・ミンチ Porky Minch) is Ness' portly, cowardly next-door neighbour. His family seems to hold a grudge against Ness' family, because Pokey's father, Aloysius Minch, apparently loaned a few hundred thousand Dollars to Ness' dad, and never got them back (he then comments that the loan "probably could've been less").
Background
Template:Spoiler Pokey temporarily joins Ness to find his elder brother, Picky (who acts more like his younger brother), at the top of Onett's mountain, where the meteor landed. After meeting Picky, a bee flies out of the meteor. It verbally identifies itself as "A bee I am... not" and calls itself Buzz Buzz. It informs Ness that he is one of three boys (and one girl) who will defeat the evil Giygas. Pokey reassures himself that he is not one of those four, and after an encounter with another time traveller, Starman Junior, Pokey and Picky arrive home and receive a harsh scolding from their father, Aloysius.
Pokey is not seen again until Ness finds Paula imprisoned near Happy Happy Village. He sics some Insane Cultists and Spiteful Crows on Ness, but Ness prevails and defeats Mr. Carpainter, the leader of the Happy Happy cult. Outside the Happy Happy headquarters, Pokey feigns shaking off the effects of mind control, asks Ness if they can still be friends, and then runs off, insulting Ness along the way.
When Ness and his friends arrive at the Monotoli building in Fourside, Pokey and his dad are working for Mr. Monotoli. Pokey acts like a typical rich snob when Ness meets him, and has his bodyguards throw Ness out. After Ness confronts Monotoli himself, he goes for the businessman's helicopter on the rooftop landing pad, but Pokey is there before they can take it, and he flees. The helicopter is later found in the Deep Darkness swamp, crashed and wrecked beyond repair, with its engine missing.
The last place Pokey appears is after Ness and his friends use Dr. Andonuts's time machine to travel through time to fight Giygas. Pokey has allied himself with Giygas, and now rides an organic-looking mecha. Pokey taunts Ness throughout the fight, but loses, and when Giygas is destroyed, Pokey flees after taunting Ness one last time.
Pokey's fate is unknown, but he leaves a message for Ness via Picky: "Don't think you've won. I'll be back."
Pokey was Giygas' top minion. Pokey was his right-hand man, with a few other powerful creatures that fight Ness and friends along the way. There are three others - Starman DX, the strongest Starman, who kidnaps many people throughout the land and brings them to their secret Stonehenge base, but is ultimately defeated by Ness and friends. The other enemy is Master Belch, who had many Zombie and Ghost minions in Threed, but was vanquished in his factory, where he held many Mr. Saturns hostage. He was later found in Deep Darkness as the new-and-improved Master Barf, and during the fight, is defeated by Poo's Star Storm. The final minion was Evil Mani Mani, a statue that caused people to go mad with greed for it, and become evil. It was broken when the entity was destroyed by Ness in Moonside.
Pokey is featured Mother 3 somehow by screenshots shown of the main characters coming across statues of him. Reportedly, the game later features Pokey revealed as the infamous Pig King, apparently frozen in his machine. It's unknown and untranslated as of yet why he's frozen, but it's common to think it's because he was left behind in the past with no way to return to time travel to the present. The presense of Dr. Andonuts supports this theory, as the events of Mother 3 likely didn't happen too far after the previous game. After his defeat, his mech transforms into the orb ("Absolutely Safe Machine") seen in the Mother 3 title screen. The mech is then completely indestructable however the downside to this is that no one can get in or out of the machine once it is activated, meaning that, technically, Pokey Minch escapes again but is trapped inside the Absolutely Safe Machine for the rest of his life.
If there truly is a Mother 4, it is likely that he'll make an appearance but because he sealed himself inside the Absolutely Safe Machine, there is no way of determining that for sure.
