The Colleges of the Republic was founded in 1948 by Dr. Anacleto E. Agaton after the World War II during the liberation period of the Philippines in 1945-1949.It was soon renamed as the Core Gateway College[1][2]

Brief history

The Colleges of the Republic was established due to the huge need in the Philippines especially the town of San Jose and its surrounding areas of an institution that could provide a college education for a large number of high school graduates during those times where almost all educational institutions was destroyed by the rage of World War II. These students would have had to face the huge expense of going to the capital city of Manila or other cities where there are institutions that survives in the war in to obtain a college degree.[3]
