Daily News Egypt (DNE) was an Egyptian daily newspaper established in 2005 and owned by Egyptian Media Services. It was affiliated with the International Herald Tribune. According to its website, the paper carries “business, political and cultural news and analysis”. The last issue was published Saturday-Sunday, April 20–21, 2012.[1] Alborsa Newspaper announced on May 18, 2012 the re-publishing of the Daily News Egypt in June 2012.[2] The newspaper was relaunched on June 19, 2012, and the web edition on June 22, 2012.

All content was produced by an Egyptian editorial team. Rania Al Malky was the last editor-in-chief of DNE, a position she has held since May 2007 after being promoted from the position of Deputy Editor she held when she joined the team in December 2006. She succeeded Firas AlAtraqchi, who was editor from October 2006-April 2007 who had replaced the first editor Amr Gamal.

Lats Deputy Editor was Sarah El Sirgany, Business Editor Amira Ahmed, Features Editor Dalia Rabie, Arts & Culture Editor Joseph Fahim and Lifestyle Editor Heba Elkayal. Staff reporters: Heba Fahmy, Safaa Abdoun, Heba Hesham, Mai Shams elDin, Business reporter Reem Abdellatif. Video journalist Farah Saafan, photographer Hassan Ibrahim and Graphic Designers Abdel Azim Saafan and Osama Taher. The paper also included contributions by a large network of freelancers based in Cairo.

The paper was the only independent English language daily in Egypt as stated by the staff,[citation needed] and as such does not belong to or is controlled by the State.[citation needed]
