Arzana is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ogliastra in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 90 km northeast of Cagliari and about 10 km west of Tortolì. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,660 and an area of 162.5 km².[2]

Arzana borders the following municipalities: Aritzo, Desulo, Elini, Gairo, Ilbono, Jerzu, Lanusei, Seui, Seulo, Tortolì, Villagrande Strisaili, Villaputzu.

Territory

Arzana is located about 670 m above sea level. In the town of Arzana stands the highest peak in Sardinia: Punta la Marmora.
