Then he worked in Paris at the renowned fish restaurant, Prunier, at the Berkeley Hotel in London and under Alain Senderens at L'Archestrate, a three-star restaurant in Paris.[2]

He met his Australian wife Angie when she was studying French at the Sorbonne and the couple moved to Australia to live in 1977.

His second, Family Food, was published by Anne O'Donovan in association with the Anti-Cancer Council, as were his next two books, Smart Food and Good Food Fast. The three books have together sold 500,000 copies.[2]

The three following cookbooks - Favourite Fast Recipes, Television Recipes and Great Cakes and Desserts - have brought his sales over 700,000.[2]

Life in Australia

Gabriel has established himself as a popular chef in Melbourne, appearing on the TV show 9am with David & Kim as a guest chef, & Sydney with "Fresh" on the Nine Network and having a poem dedicated to his recipes by 3AW host Neil Mitchell.
