Starship Entertainment is a South Korean record label. It currently consists of girl group Sistar, ballad singer K.Will, Lee Hyun Ji, Moon Ji Eun, Kim Da Ye, boy group Boyfriend, and girl group G.Lux.[1][2][3][4]
History
The company's founder, Kim Shi-dae, previously worked as a road manager for a K-pop band named Cool and worked for Bang Si-hyuk's company Big Hit Entertainment between 2005 and 2007 before establishing his own company. Starship's first artist was K.Will, followed by Sistar and then Boyfriend.[5] The company has 23 employees.[5]
On December 18, 2013, 70% of the label's shares was acquired by its distributor, LOEN Entertainment, making it an independent subsidiary of the latter.[6]
