James Lewington Whitehouse, born 9 April 1873 in Birmingham and died 7 February 1934, was a professional footballer.

James Whitehouse played goalkeeper for Grimsby Town from June 1892 thru 1896.

He joined Aston Villa in 1896 for a £200 fee.In his first season he played 22 games for the club's championship winning side.

In 1898 James Whitehouse joined Bedminster before rejoining Grimsby Town in 1899.

After 1903 his football career began to wane as he failed to make the first team and began moving to lesser quality clubs.
