In surrealism, play, including surrealist games, is of great significance as not only a form of recreation but a method of investigation. Old games such as exquisite corpse, Conditionals, Question and Answer and newer ones such as Time Travelers' Potlatch, What is Wrong With This Picture? and parallel collage have played a critical role.
