Quaranjavirus is a genus of enveloped RNA viruses, one of six genera in the virus family Orthomyxoviridae. The genus was proposed in 2012 and formally approved by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) in 2015.[1][2] The genome is single-stranded, negative-sense segmented RNA.[3]

Quaranfil virus is the type species; the genus also contains the species Johnston Atoll virus,[1] and has been proposed to contain the species or strain Lake Chad virus.[3]
