Moon King is a Canadian pop music duo from Toronto, comprised of Daniel Benjamin (née Daniel Woodhead) and Maddy Wilde. [1]
They have released two EPs, Obsession I and Obsession II, on Fucked Up guitarist Mike Haliechuk's label One Big Silence. [2]
On December 11, 2014 the band announced they had signed to Last Gang Records[3] and released their debut album Secret Life on April 7, 2015 [4]
The band has toured North America and Europe with artists including Alvvays, TOPS, Fucked Up, Austra, Mr Twin Sister, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Majical Cloudz [5][6] [7][8][9][10][11], and appeared in music publications such as Pitchfork Media, the Fader, NME, and Dazed Digital[12][13][14][15].
Daniel and Maddy were both previously members of the band Spiral Beach[16]. Daniel has also performed with Grimes[17], Sean Nicholas Savage and his brother Airick Woodhead's project Doldrums[18].
