Norma Group
Norma Group SE (often written as NORMA) is a German manufacturer of machine joining components, such as hose couplings, clamps and quick connectors.[1][2] The company is based in Maintal in Hesse, near Frankfurt, and is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.[3] As of November 2015, it is a member of the MDAX index of mid-cap companies. The company had around 6000 employees in 2015.[4][5] It markets its products under a range of brand names, such as ABA, Breeze, Connectors, Serflex, Serratub, Terry and Torca as well as Norma.[6]
The company’s products are used or designed for a variety of applications and industries, including automotive, aviation, construction and shipping, and purposes such as cooling, emission outputs, hoses, water pipes and sterile pharmaceuticals production.[7][8][9]
The company was founded as Rasmussen GmbH in 1949 and was formed in 2006 following a management buyout and merger with ABA, a Swedish company, purchasing Breeze Industrial Products in 2007.[10][11][12] The company was publicly listed in 2011, having been owned by the family of its founder before 2006 and funded by private equity company 3i after that.[13][14]
It purchased the Michigan-based company Craig Assembly in 2013, a specialist in injection-moulded components, and California-based company National Diversified Systems, which makes plastic water piping products, in 2014.[15][16][17][18][19] It also bought Malaysian company Chien Jin Plastic in 2014.[5]
The company has two production plants in China and one in Brazil, among other locations.[20][21][22]
