You see how the voice of reason gets things done here, far more than the lion's roar (re: the child shaheed issue with Gilabrand). Sanguinity, equanimity, tranquillity - adapt this as your motto, as more in the wiki spirit. --Ravpapa 06:54, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Protestant Nationalist

[edit]

Thank you for you positve comment, however I find it strange that the page is supposed to only relate to Northern Ireland, its contents cover (and should cover) all Ireland, since the objective is a United Ireland - including independence and inclusiveness? Greetings Osioni 11:15, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your point understood. May I make the point, there's no need to open further similar headings for each next message?? (which I have corrected). Best is as I have done it here -- click the heading's [edit] then begin your new message with a double dot (:) which in-sets from the previous message. I've just done a little re-wording on the opening section Paddy, which you are of course free to re-word as well Osioni 21:37, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Civilian and other casualties during the Troubles

[edit]

Hi, Thanks for your suggestion. I was attempting to add the civilian and Irish forces casualties figures to the infobox, but I can found the proper format. I will try to fix the problem as soon as possible. Best regards. DagosNavy 23:54, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, Paddy. It seems that another guy already dealt succesfully with the infobox problems. About the pic on top, yes, I agree with you that the Republican poster was a NPOV violation, but I think that a photograph would be better for an infobox than a map. However, I acknowledge that the issue of the partition was in some way the casus belli of the Troubles, so the map is also of value. DagosNavy 00:12, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Review

[edit]

Hi.I've recently created an article regarding the Free State Army Intelligence Department that operated from Oriel House and summerly executed Republicans in Dublin during the Civil War. Please can you take some time to review this article. Also, if you have any tip on how to make this page better then I'd be interested in what you have to say. Herers the link.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
