Hi, I am Jim. I am a retired attorney living in Berkeley, California. I also have an M.S. degree in wildlife management from UC Berkeley. I have been interested in whales since the 1970s. I wrote a 200 page law review article in 1977 on international management of whales. Since then I have become more interested in whale science, particularly concerning the North Pacific Right Whale.

I have been a member of Society of Marine Mammalogy since the beginning, since the 1970s a member of The Wildlife Society and the American Cetacean Society, and for the last 10 years, a member of the IUCN's Canid Specialist Group.

I am going to be working on:

North Pacific Right Whale
