Amaya Uranga is a Spanish singer, best known for the almost twenty years she spent as a member of the Spanish folk/pop sextet Mocedades.

She was born on the 18th of February 1947 in Bilbao and formed Mocedades in 1963 with eight members. After numerous group changes, together with her two sisters and two male members, Uranga came second in the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Eres Tu" and the band subsequently launched a hugely successful music career in Latin America and Spain.

Uranga was lead singer on many of Mocedades' most successful songs, such as the smash hit "Eres Tu" and "Tomame o Dejame".

1984-Present

She left Mocedades in 1984 to pursue a solo career, although she failed to surpass her successes in Mocedades. In the mid-1990's Uranga began to manage a new band caled "El Consorcio". She has also appeared as herself many times on Spanish language television shows.
