Chelapur is a village under tahsil Chandpur, Bijnor and Bijnor District in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It has mostly Hindu, population.There is an old primary school in the village.

Demographics

As of census 2001, Chelapur had a population of 644. Males are 354, and females are 290.

location

Chelapur is situated on Noorpur-Moradabad road. The post office of the village lies in a near by village called Nangli Pathwari. The police station for this village is in Noorpur, a nearby town.

Education

As there is only one primary school in the village, therefore the parents send their children to near by towns and cities like Noorpur, Dhampur.

culture

There is an old holy Peepal tree in the village commonly known as 'Dada Devta'. Nearby this holy tree a Shiv Temple is also present. This village is the birthplace of great leader late SH.Tikaram Singh Gurjar. His family still lives in the village and works for the welfare and development of the village. The people of village are aware of importance of education and send their children to nearby schools in town. Some of the villages near Chelapur are Gohawar, Askaripur, Abdullapur Dahana, Doondhli, Saidpur Mafi, Nangla and others.

political and social environment

People of chelapur enthusiastically take part in the matter of national and regional politics. This village comes under Noorpur vidhansabha area. The present mp of Noorpur lagislative area is Mr Lokendra Chauhan.[1]
