Restructure

Ok, the long facts list was getting messy with most facts being repeated at least once so i have now restructured the facts list into sub sections. When new facts are confirmed (as they probably will be every other day up to the release), just place it under the appropriate sub heading. This stops facts repeating themselves, removes conflicting information and makes it easy to read. Someone might want to go through my restructured list and check it for mistakes in fact or punctuation ~azzytyb

I just wanna write, nice job! Very good restructering of the cluttered mess we used to have NSRegentPark 22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Definetly looking good. Good job.--Greene01

Internet Play and Jetpacks

Internet play has not been announced, much less confirmed. And no sources I have found state that there is a jetpack. The have no place in The Facts. If you try to add these, include references. --Elheber 16:36, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I too was confused by this, Jet Packs were not mentioned in any magazine preview's, Although Infrastructure isn't likely, I think we can agree that Wi-Fi capabilitie's are almost certain to be in.--- Greene01

San Andreas Stories Rumour

Is this truly necessary? For one, it's far ahead of our time and two, why discuss it now. Granted, it may or may not happen -- but since no one can confirm or deny this, I say we take it out and put it back in when we actually have a hint or two to base it on. --My IP Addy's Listed, 14:21, 11 August 2006

Your suggestion is justifiable. Until Rockstar themselves confirms the release of San Andreas Stories, it's nothing more than rumors, which is not encyclopedic. ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 20:05, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not to mention the fact that Grand Theft Auto IV is most likely Rockstar's next production, so if there is a San Andreas Stories, it wouldn't be for a few years to come at the least. Mattfish 21:32, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rumours

"The woman next to the sports car is thought to be the wife of Alex Shrub from in page 4 of Vice City's game manual, since they strongly resemble each other.[1] It is also thought that one of the men on the boat is Colonel Juan García Cortez before he becomes rich, while the man on his right could be his right hand man before he lost his hair, Gonzales (who is killed in Vice City)."

Are such rumours realy neccery for wikipedia? I mean that we should stay to facts not just mention any rumours, or can anyone then confirm and link the source of thouse rumours?

Actually, in my opinion, I strongly believe the woman next to the sports car truly is the wife of Alex Shrub. But the rumour about the Colonel -- completely remove that. My goodness.--My IP Addy's Listed
I have to agree with last opion, somehow I also feel that this kind of activity doesn't fit with Cortez'es character, but that ofcourse does not justify to edit wikipedia. However I would surely like to see that picture where Colonel Cortez is supposedly portrayed. I think that this "romour" has as same much proof, that I have it not beeing true, meaning nohting. So I'd rather like the Cortez's part entirely taken out, if no source of evidence is shown. Or then link to picture to confrim the rumour.

Some of these rumours have strong evidence. I think that we can agree that Laura Shrub is next to the car, Also that Umberto Robina's face is shown, And the rumour about the Colonel and Gonzalez is also likely as we all know he had a thing for boats, Not to mention the guy rumoured to be Gonzalez is an uncanny comparison. Ken Rosenberg is likely to be in as he set up in Vice in 1984 which is unlikely an coincidence. And Phil Cassidy has been seen in the load times by a magazine on a playthrough. ---Greene01

Doesnt the sentance about the game not being ported to any other console, contradict what has been stated in the previous sentance?--88.105.237.226 21:24, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your right and i have removed the part saying its likely to be ported to consoles. That is speculation at this point. Although it may happen in the future it's PSP exclusive for now. --Greene01

Ok, i tried to integrate the rumours section into the facts section. Some of the bits were getting unnecesary, like the four lines explaining why imdb could potentially be wrong about ving rhamnes. Also, i rmeoved the ramble about vcs being exclusive to psp even though lcs was emant to be exclusive but wasn't as all of this is implied at the very top of the p[age where it says the game will be exclusive to psp ~azzytyb

Should this page follow the same suit as the GTA IV page? There've been long debates of fan links and they are not a necessity. If fan links are provided, what use does the Wikipedia page provide for people then? I'm going to remove the links until after the game is released, until then, those fan links should only be linked to provide sources for information, okay? --My IP Addy's Listed, 7:27, 14 August 2006

I think it was an unnecessary removal. The fan links provided were an easy way to get more precise information and also a way to prove what it says on wikipedia as fact. ---Greene01

Prequel or Sequel?

I know it takes place before GTA:LCS, but what is it exactly?--Ideal4real 02:10, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's more of a prequel to Vice City, as LCS was a prequel to GTAIII
No, I mean in terms of the PSP Game that follows it.--Ideal4real 02:44, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Neither, it's a continuation of the saga

Opinion?

What is your guys opinion on Victor reportedly being voiced by Ving Rhames. I added it to the rumours section although its more than likely true. I guess this means that heavy Colombian accent isn't carrying over. Thank god. It'll probably be explained in the game. Probably just talks like that for drug deal's as cover. If the cop's wear looking for a guy with a heavy Columbian accident Ving Rhames is the last person you'd suspect.--Greene01

Ving Rhames is a good choice for a voice actor, considering Victor is a marine and all -- Ving would make a perfect voice now that I think about it. However, the only point I disagree with you on is the fact IMDb is a reliable source. Since people can post all the information they want at this stage, everything is speculative. If I can recall, they listed comedian, Dave Chappelle for a voice over in Metal Gear Solid 3. Like Wikipedia, IMDb is very open to the public. But, we'll see in the upcoming mag previews and trailers. NSRegentPark 01:03, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You've definetly got a point but all the big GTA websites seem to be taking this as fact but just to be on safe side as it isn't officially confirmed i just added it to the rumours. But personally i see this as a very likely and logical choice for Victors VA. From the pics of Vic i can see Ving's voice suiting Vic very well but i guess we'll have to wait and see. Some of the websites even believe that Rockstar themselves may have submitted this to Imdb. I don't know if that's true or not. The sites have also said that Imdb is known to be spot on with this kind of stuff, That where i got that they are a reliable source from, As i personally would not be too familiar with the site. But feel free to change what i wrote into a more reliable paragraph.--Greene01

IMDb reliable?

IMDb is often reliable but not in the Liberty City Stories section. They put Michael Madsen on the site but later it was revealed that he will not voice Toni again. ProSieben 13:23, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • As i said above feel free to change it but i got it off a Vice City Stories website that described Imdb as reliable. I myself wouldn't use Imdb often. But change it if you want.--Greene01

I changed the listing under features stating that Ving is voicing Vic. The trailer for the game was released today and the voice actor performing as Vic is definitely not Ving Rhames. I recognize the voice and it is an African-American actor but I can't place the name when I hear it. It may be true that Ving voiced Vic in the final game but as for the trailer, that is not him. Also I added a note on imdb making errors before, specifically 3 errors during the 3rd season of 24. Feel free to edit this however but I felt like it should be noted. - Russell

  • I just saw the trailer and im suprised that it isn't Ving. Every website seemed to be taking it as fact. Oh well, thats why i only put it in the rumours section. Thanks anyway.--Greene01
I was surprised with the trailer, i was expecting Ving Rhames' voice as well, but i thought it sounded more like Don Cheadle in my opinion, but even then, it still didn't sound like him. Gertzy
Next example: Anybody read the gtaportable.com article today? No? I quote what he wrote: "On a side note, I've recently tested the authenticity of the Internet Movie Database, the website that provided us the info about Ving Rhames voicing the main character in VCS, Victor Vance. A few weeks ago I added Kid Frost as the voice of Diego Mendez, who also voiced T-Bone Mendez in GTA: San Andreas. The listing recently showed up, meaning that almost anyone editing the article can get their info up there after it went through a group of administrators.

While this is not any news to most of you, I just thought I'll inform you about this for the future. Just don't get excited next year when you see someone on the IMDB like Adam Sandler or Angelina Jolie, for instance, doing voice work for GTA IV. As a result I delete Kid Frost from the list.ProSieben 17:27, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Release Date Update

According to Gamespot, Vice City Stories will be released in 2007, not 2006. [1] TigerManXL 16:37, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I made a change in the summary to show that the game had been officially delayed by about two weeks. 6:37 Sept. 7 Dudeyall

There has been no offical announcement about it being delayed. Every site except Amazon says the 17th. Also the only date confirmed by R* is the 17th. Next time, wait for an offical announcement.Gamerzworld

  • Vice City Stories is officially delayed until 31 October in USA and 3 November in EU. --Greene01

Added Victor Vance information

from GoPlay Magazine, they have said the vic was kicked out of the army...added that...

Is it possible that we can see Mike Toreno in one of the trailers and screenshots? The man in the white suit? ProSieben 18:08, 25 September 2006

  • That's obviously not Mike Toreno, did that voice sound like James Woods to you. I wouldn't want Toreno back without Woods as VA.--Greene01

Major site update

Can someone add some of te info from the new site update. I would but I have to go for a little bit.

removed the " Because of this, Vice City main character Tommy Vercetti will not be making a cameo appearance in this game due to him still being in prison in Liberty City." part

it seems useless cus everyone who isn't a n00b knows that~ moe 19:22, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ps2 release?

is there any information apart from the fact that lcs was ported to the ps2? and do you think is going to be ported?
