The Native Howl is a four piece acoustic band from Rochester, Michigan. The band was formed by Alex Holycross and Jake Sawicki in 2013. [1] After beginning their music careers as folk musicians, they quickly developed a new genre, Thrash Grass. "An effective mashup of thrash metal and banjo driven grass" as John Lawless of Bluegrass Today puts it. [2] With the release of their third album, "Thrash Grass", they charted in the Billboard bluegrass charts for eight consecutive weeks, peaking number four. [3]
