Judicial nominees

Hi, The reason I'm hiding that portion of the infobox is because they're not even on the court yet. Yes, they were announced, but they haven't been through committee or voted on by the Senate. Scores of people get nominated but never confirmed...so why unhide it before it's time? If they were confirmed and named "Designate", then I would understand, but it doesn't make sense when they're nomination was just announced. There's no guarantee they'll be confirmed, much less receive a committee hearing. Snickers2686 (talk) 14:49, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Blakebs. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Chief of Staff to the United States Secretary of State, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Wade (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Political appointments by Donald Trump layout

I'm not trying to be rude, but (-9,297) is way too large of a number change that should require a discussion on the article's talk page... I'm not a huge fan of the layout either so that is something else others can weigh in on. Hope you understand, Corky Buzz by the Hornet's Nest 04:53, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

All the departments used to run together in one table, that was phased out and they were divided into separate tables, and I much rather jump right to the Office of Management of Budget instead of scrolling down for it. I was merely following your lead here. Sorry, I was under the assumption people were encouraged to be bold when editing? Apparently not. Are bold edits now discouraged here? Blakebs 10:57PM (CST) 12/17/2017

No, bold edits are still encouraged, but if another editor disagrees with a portion or all of the edit and reverts, then we discuss. That's all I am doing here. Four days went by and no one objected to collapsing the tables per Talk:Political appointments by Donald Trump#A few suggestions. Per WP:BRD, you shouldn't revert once someone has reverted your edits. You discuss it. Corky Buzz by the Hornet's Nest 05:03, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Look, what I really wanted was those offices sub-divided with a hide and edit button so I can go right to one of them when a Trump nomination is announced instead of scrolling down to it, wouldn't that be much more convenient? Blakebs 11:06PM (CST) 12/17/2017

You're never satisfied. I moved parts of this article to its own separate page in order to trim some excess weight off this page, you disagreed with me, so I put them back, I'm merely following your lead and I get nothing but grief from you in return. Who died and put you in charge of this article? Blakebs 11:12PM (CST) 12/17/2017

I will not discuss this any further on your talk page. If you would like to discuss it on the article's talk page (as I've suggested) so others can weigh in, I will be glad to discuss it there. If you notice from other large page edits, they were discussed on the talk page before the edits were made. It is common courtesy to discuss large changes before making such edits. Corky Buzz by the Hornet's Nest 05:15, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. We'll take it to the talk page there. Blakebs 11:18PM (CST) 12/17/2017

Licensing and categorizing

Blakebs, if you're going to upload pictures on Commons, please add the correct licensing and add categories. A majority of the Executive Branch departments have their own tag (ie. Treasury is {{PD-USGov-Treasury}}), every agency has a category. If they have held previous political offices, they more than likely have their own category. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nazakhtar Nikakhtar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Uploading photos

Blakebs, you need to learn how to upload files properly. Listing www2.ed.gov is not an accurate source, as you need to insert the direct url to the page (https://www2.ed.gov/news/staff/bios/ham-options.html). Failure to do so could have the file nominated for deletion. Also, you need to change the license to {{PD-USGov-ED}} because it is a work of the Dept. of Education. Each Executive Branch agency has its own template, so please use that instead of {{PD-USGov}}. And finally, please crop the photos as most of the photos at the Political appointments page are cropped. This keeps with consistency. Thanks, Corky 03:45, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Must I go to an administrator, Blake? I have told you on several occasions to add the proper license to the files you upload (which I provided a list for you), yet you're still failing to do so in your latest upload (may want to turn the caps of too). Corky 03:18, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The file's non-free use was previously discussed at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions/Archive/2017/March#File:United States Postal Service Logo.svg and the consensus was that its use in Political appointments of Donald Trump does not comply with Wikipedia's non-free use policy> Non-free use is not automatic and each use needs to comply with relevant policy; moreover, the fact that the file is being used in one article does not mean it should be being used in other aricles as explained in WP:OTHERIMAGE. If you still have any questions about this, feel free to ask them below, at WP:MCQ or WT:NFC. If any questions about the close of the aforementioned FFD discussion, you can ask the closing admin per WP:CLOSECHALLENGE. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:23, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

April 2018

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at List of Trump administration dismissals and resignations, you may be blocked from editing. Your addition of Ronald Vitiello--a person still very much employed by the Trump Administration, as per the first line of his article--appears a deliberate introduction of a factual error.
