The Boonton Reservoir (also known as the Jersey City Reservoir) is a reservoir located between Boonton and Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey. It provides water for Jersey City, New Jersey. It is formed by a dam on the Rockaway River completed in 1904[1], on the site of the original town of Boonton[2]. It was the first location where water chlorination was used continuously in 1908.[2][3] In March, 2019, a body was found floating in the reservoir[4], eventually identified as Sean Stohl.[5] In 2018, a walking trail around the reservoir was opened.[6]
