Wehwalt:This isn't an attempt to build an ideal society. We are building an encyclopedia here and the reader does not give a flying duck about what goes on behind the scenes. We are constrained by the legal and social limits of 2015, but as I have often said, we are not here to sing Kumbaya but to build an encyclopedia and this is the shop floor. Do you think anyone who visits, say, St. Peter's, while admiring, say, the stonework, would think the authorities in the 12th century should have suspended the chief stone mason from work for saying something nasty, or think the person who judges between the stone mason and the guy carting away the rubble should be someone who has expressed a hostile attitude towards skilled workers?

The Article Rescue Barnstar
Nice work on improving the Owen J. Baggett article, which served to demonstrate the notability for this person and ultimately led to the article's retention on Wikipedia. Northamerica1000(talk) 09:20, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Quote of the week, back by popular demand
GregJackP:The purpose of admins should be to keep the riff-raff away from the content creators.[1]"
Thank you for volunteering to complete the GA review for Schmerber v. California, and for your tireless efforts to improve legal articles on Wikipedia! -- Notecardforfree (talk) 19:33, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
I wanted to give you this Barnstar to congratulate you with on the work you have done to raise the United States v. Washington article to F.A. status (Today's Featured Article!) and to recognize all of your wonderful contributions here at Wikipedia. Speaking as one who writes, I understand all-too-well, the tireless work, the setbacks, the frustrations, and even heartbreaks that go into making something special like this possible. You have earned this grand moment to savor in joy, and I hope that you will re-consider and resume your work here, because people of your caliber and dedication are so desperately needed. The Defender of the Wiki Barnstar
Awarded for defending the integrity of the pseudo-democratic process known as "request for adminship". I hope that next time, others will join you in defending your own or others' conscientious opposes. For those who do not understand how we must be as a community and a society, I leave a poem.
